Babymoon

In June we'll be hitting up A-Kon, an anime convention here in Dallas, but I'll probably be with my sister and her friends more often than with Wes at that. I think I'd really love for us to have a follow up visit to Galveston (we spent a little time there on our honeymoon) to enjoy that city more. Hit the beach, maybe do some fishing or go out on one of the dolphin spotting boats, stuff like that. Obviously we can't afford to blow a huge wad of change or a lot of vacation days, but I don't want to hoard all the money and all our time and regret not spending some of that on each other.

So did any of you go on a "babymoon", some kind of vacation to savor the last of the alone time with your significant other? If so, what did you do?

Cheapin' It Up

We're working on cheaping out - but in a good way. Now that we're getting a handle on some of the things we need, we're exploring Craigslist to get some better deals on gently used items that we don't mind grabbing used. The main goals right now: crib, rocking chair, possibly a dresser/changing table.

For those of you who already have kiddos, what did you get used? What was hand me downs? What did you insist on having brand new all for yourselves?

The Reveal

Most of you probably know by now that, well, we did it! I'm pregnant! I am currently in my ninth week and am due on September 26, 2011. That means we've still got plenty of time to prepare, which is both good and daunting. I'm apparently not a patient person.

Wednesday we had our very first sonogram. Nooblet's still tiny. Verrrry tiny. But it was amazing getting to see our little one and hear his or her little heartbeat. It's four more weeks until we go in for another sonogram, and I confess to being more than a little excited. I can't wait to see what's different. I can't wait to see what's changed. In the meantime, it's good to know that all my tests show good things, my doctor told me my weight was "fantastic" - something I've never heard in connection with my weight - and Wes and I are both super, super excited.
